Our Midwest and Mountain Vacation

Day 0 - It is here
Our house is a flurry of packing. And we are charging an entire stable of electronic devices. I did not know we had that many. Our plan is to board Amtrak tonight in Syracuse, NY and end up in Omaha, NE 26 hours later. We have a few hours in Chicago tomorrow between a change in trains. Once in Omaha we will rent a car and then head north. We are planning on hitting some of the Little House on the Praire sites first. Then we move into a string of national parks: Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. We might hit a couple of state parks on the way. Then back to Omaha and the train ride home. All in 14 days. Hopefully the kids survive the inevitable one too many "Are we there yet?"s.
